Obstacle Eight. Chair

It isn’t my fault. I was assigned to this region by birthright. My wings give me the authority to dictate destiny but that’s an illusion. For destiny is an eel in a bowl of slime and I’ve hands with no thumbs.

So I can only do as it impresses upon me. I am to react and anticipate. I am to foresee and eliminate prior to knowing where I am going? I am not enlightened. I am simply given power that would overwhelm you. Not me. Can’t you see the perspective where lies, the mystery?

Azeal is shaken. He’s been beckoned for a review of his actions and the progress of things in his quadrant. Is it producing as well as the others? Is he short? Is he slow? How could he know in a multidimensional empire without omniscience?

Someone has to be messing up. Oh gosh. He shouldn’t even consider thinking in those types of terms. Not very nice. He’ll have to ponder about it and protect his sanctity… lest he loose it.

It’s tough out there for a guardian angel…

Tye wakes up in a chair as if he’d come out of a coma from a century’s long stint. What amount of time matters when it turns black and comes back again? Infinity lives between the cracks and you’ll never get it back.

“What the fuck is going on?” Tye calls out. She is definitely in female form at the moment. He’d call himself a man but you’d understand if you looked at the current plumbing downstairs. Handcuffs, chains. Dark room. Fish…

Shit.

This is dangerous.

“Hey get me the fuck outa here I’m not guilty!” Tye exclaims.

The door opens with a creek. The water on it can be heard rolling off it. Iron doors and cement. Wooden chairs. Singular lighting fixtures. Money Lancaster carrying a candle light before him.

“Do tell me girl. Little squirrel.” Money states.

His piercing blue eyes seem to cancel out against Tye’s. They can’t see into each other.

“I am innocent. I didn’t do anything wrong let me go I won’t say nothing!” Tye shouts

“Yes, yes… innocent your just a woman. Who can imagine originating sins starting with you?” Money replies.

“Fuck off, I’m not lying. I’m not hiding… I don’t know what the hell is going on.” Tye states. That much is truth with the right amount of mental gymnastics Tye is performing right now. The Lancaster eyes can see it. That’s their magic.

Money grabs Tye’s face and pinches it between his fingers. “I’ve seen things young lady, impossible things, and I’ve survived because of lies and deception. They may as well be my own invention. Do not try me. So Tell me. Why do you have those eyes?”

“…” Tye

“Okay, then let’s pull them out. I do not recall a deposit into the Lancaster bank account for such a purchase. Not that I would sell it anyway but you certainly don’t deserve it.” Money rambles on. He’s sitting on Tye now as people around him gather with instruments and devices. Metallic. Surgical. Money is even putting a face mask on and some glasses. “It’ll be sterile don’t worry.”

“It’s me! It’s me! Stop!” Tye screams

Money pauses for a moment. Recognition. Hallucination. He jumps off the girl and begins to swirl when it happens. An explosion down the hall. Dark smoke gathers as a fire rages. Money is laughing.

“Are you serious?” He says brushing his hand through his hair as he walks out of the room into the smoke and billowing blaze.

Tye can’t do anything but struggle as the chair falls over and she falls to the ground cheek in a puddle of that water that was dripping down. The smell of fish. Another explosion. Men screaming and gunshots.

Nora and Corin walk through the smoke and fire. Nora’s eyes glow purple hue true and Corin’s eyes an abys of nothingness but everything. The universe. The stars and galaxies. Realities.

“What the fuck is happening?!” Tye half screams half gulps half chokes through the puddle of water she’s face planted into pinned down by the chair and handcuffs.

“Shhhh. Calm down we are here to rescue you.” Nora states. “Corin, you’ve got this?”

“I’ve got them. Lets just go.” Corin replies.

Nora nods her head and Brent and Locke appear by her side. They’re both chained up like Tye was in chairs. Beaten up as if tortured.

Tye can now see a wound on Corin’s forehead. A line by her hairline. Bleeding.

“My time is fleeting. Just this once. I’ll get you out. After this you’ve to figure out how to actually use magic properly. I am smart I’ll figure it out believe in me.” Corin states. She’s almost robotic.

In a blink of an eye they’ve been teleported back into their home. They find themselves falling to the ground of the living room. Nora is bowing to Corin and Corin is returning the favor. Before collapsing unconscious.

“What the fuck just happened?” Tye ask incredulously.

“They started torturing us trying to find you that’s when Corin snapped into that.” Nora explains. “They broke my chains. They took my bindings off. I could hear all your thoughts and pains. I’m not feeling okay right now. I feel sick.” Nora complains before falling herself. She is caught by Locke and laid upon the couch.

The only ones conscious are Brent, Locke and Tye.

“What the fuck?” Tye states for all of them.
